Dungeon: Keep Her - Patreon Release - Alpha 0.9.1

Hello, Keepers! Alpha 0.9 has been a big effort into making the game more fun and accessible!

Many bugs have been squashed, values rebalanced and tooltips written. The new tooltip system works as a way to guide players through pretty much any feature in the game (which I concede: some are still kinda confusing :P).

If you have doubts about something, hover over it!

Status Effects are a new addition that will soon also work as Character Traits. They represent any current conditions that a character is under, they can be permanent, genetic, innate, only active during battles and more!

You can reference those by their icons and tooltip descriptions, available whenever character details are present on screen.

Examples of available status effects are "Poisoned", "Hexed" and "Bleeding". Soon, I'll be adding traits like "Big Breasts", "Small Waist", "Good Health", "Sociable" and more. Traits will influence characters' physical appearances and behaviours, they can also be genetic and tie into breeding mechanics in the future.

For this update, I really wanted to make the game less frustrating and confusing, so I worked on adding plenty of QoL features.

I've added a little portrait and a short, detailed description of characters and their needs to the "servant selection" menu. I'll eventually bring this over to any context where players are choosing characters from a list.

Characters will now complain about whatever is bothering them during Dungeon management mode, showing easily identifiable icons instead of subjective dialogue.

As an experiment, I've removed the Frustration meter and interaction cooldown whenever you go "too far". You are, after all, a Dungeon Lord!

Another addition I really like are the damage and status indicators that pop up during battle. It's now easier to understand what is actually happening during battles, especially since abilities now have detailed descriptions as well.

Next up:

For Alpha 0.10, I want to:

  • Keep working on ending bugs, with special attention to the Options menu and performance issues.
  • Add more visual assets, mainly hairstyles, underwear, face variations, poses, ability icons and an asset rework of the current buildings.
  • Add a way for characters to interact with each other, creating relationships and fulfilling Social needs
  • Add/Rework current dialogue interactions
  • Experiment with lewd character-on-character animations as abilities during battles
